When you arrive at the airport, you will be met by a representative of the Association, who will be holding up a sign reading "Vivre de Ma Campagne".
If you prefer to come by coach, there is a Eurolines service to all large Moroccan towns. (Check that they take bicycles!). There is also a ferry from Sète (France) to Tangiers or Nador, in the north-east. We can meet you wherever you arrive.
We do not supply cycles: you will need to bring your own.
A detailed route description is essential, and will be given to you when you arrive at the airport, together with mobile telephone numbers for the families with whom you will be staying. (This is a moving on holiday.) All the same, you should bring your own road map and compass - or GPS, if you have one. (Your route description will include GPS references.) You should also bring with you an emergency phone number, in case your family needs to be contacted. The mobile number for the representative meeting you at the airport will be on the road book. (Try it out before you part company.) You can use it at any time, in an emergency.
The Association's representative will put you on the right road, once you have been given the route (and drunk your first mint tea!). Later, he will take a taxi to the smallholding where you will be spending your first night, and will wait on the road for you, so as to escort you the last part of the way.
He will also stay the night there, so that he will be able to answer any questions you may have about the route, or other information in the book. The next morning, you pay him in full for your holiday and after breakfast he will leave you to continue on your cycle tour, to the next host family's home. Each of the HOST FAMILIES will prepare you a picnic lunch.
