BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY IN MOROCCO

Separating the grain and trampling the straw

How Does a "Vivre de Ma Campagne" Holiday Work?

It couldn’t be simpler! Just send the Association an e-mail, informing them of:

- region you would like to visit
- title of the holiday you want
- preferred dates

Once your booking has been confirmed, you can book your flight and email the details to the Association (info@sejours-maroc.org).

One of the Association's smallholder representatives will meet you at the airport, holding a clear sign reading "Vivre de ma campagne". The identity of the representative meeting you, and the name of the host village will be indicated on the email confirming your booking. The representative will present his identity card when you get off the plane.

You will then be taken to the village where you have chosen to stay, and introduced to the Caïd: the local authority representative. He will note down which family you are staying with. The person who met you will then take you to that family's home, and will remain there with you until the next morning.

In the morning, so long as you feel comfortable with the family, you pay the representative the full amount for your stay, and he gives you your receipt (written in both Roman and Arabic alphabets). He reimburses your host family, who welcome you into their home. If you stay with any family longer than 8 days, you will pay them directly for any remaining time spent under their roof. If for any reason you do not feel that you are going to get on with the family (always a possibility), the representative will remain with you until you find one more suitable.

Question: Why doesn’t the fellah from the host family come to fetch you himself?

Answer: Because should the host family not suit you, the Association’s representative has the tact and experience necessary not to offend them, and will make arrangements for you to stay with a different one.
